second cousins
Shared great-grandparents' descendants
Second cousins are people who share great-grandparents but not grandparents—the children of your parents' first cousins.
The term describes a specific degree of kinship, more distant than first cousins but still recognized as family: I only see my second cousins at big family reunions.
Sometimes confused with "first cousins once removed," which describes a generational offset rather than lateral distance.
