Fabric hair bands
Scrunchers are fabric-covered elastic bands used to gather hair into ponytails or buns.
Popular in the 1980s and 90s, they fell out of fashion before returning as retro accessories.
The soft covering distinguishes them from plain hair elastics and leaves less of a crease in the hair: She keeps a collection of velvet scrunchers on her wrist.
