salted paper
Seasoned photographic medium
Salted paper is an early photographic printing process from the 1840s, in which paper is treated with salt solution then sensitized with silver nitrate.
The technique produces soft, matte images with warm tones.
It was largely supplanted by albumen prints but remains used by fine art photographers seeking a handcrafted aesthetic.
