right backs
Outside defensive players
Right backs are defenders in soccer (football) who play on the right side of the back line.
They mark opposing left wingers, contribute to attacks down the flank, and deliver crosses into the box.
Modern right backs are expected to combine defensive solidity with offensive support: The right back overlapped and whipped in a cross.
