reverse arms
Mourning rifle position
Reverse arms is a military drill command in which soldiers invert their rifles, holding them with the muzzle pointed downward.
The position is assumed during funeral ceremonies and other solemn occasions as a gesture of mourning or respect for the dead: The honor guard stood at reverse arms as the casket passed.
