revenging
Settling a score
Revenging is the present participle of revenge, meaning to inflict harm in return for a wrong suffered.
Where avenge suggests justice, revenge implies personal satisfaction: He spent years revenging himself on those who had betrayed him.
The form appears less often than "getting revenge" or "taking revenge."
