retractable roofs
Openable stadium covers
A retractable roof is a roof designed to open and close, allowing a building to shift between enclosed and open-air configurations.
Most commonly found on sports stadiums, where weather can be excluded for play but sunshine admitted on pleasant days: The game started under the retractable roof, but they opened it by the third inning.
Also used on convertible cars and some residential structures.
