renaissances
Eras of renewal
Renaissances is the plural of renaissance, meaning periods of renewed interest, growth, or activity after decline.
The capitalized Renaissance refers specifically to the European cultural flowering of the 14th–17th centuries, but lowercase renaissance describes any revival: Jazz experienced several renaissances throughout the 20th century.
The plural acknowledges that such revivals happen repeatedly across different fields and eras.
