Relicensing is the process of granting a new license or changing the licensing terms of something previously licensed.
Software projects may undergo relicensing when developers switch from one open-source license to another: The relicensing from GPL to MIT made the code more permissive.
Nuclear power plants and other regulated facilities require periodic relicensing to continue operations.
