regressives
Those resisting change
Regressives are people who resist social or political progress, or who favor returning to earlier conditions.
The term is often used as a political insult by progressives to characterize opponents as backward-looking: The regressives want to roll back civil rights gains.
In economics, regressive taxes take a larger percentage from lower incomes than higher ones.
