rear-facing seat
Reverse-oriented passenger perch
A rear-facing seat is a seat oriented to face the back of a vehicle rather than the direction of travel.
Infant car seats are rear-facing because this position better protects a baby's head and spine in a crash: Keep children in rear-facing seats until age two.
Some train and bus seats also face backward.
