Enhanced driver's license
Real ID refers to a set of U.S. federal standards for state-issued driver's licenses and identification cards, established after the 9/11 attacks.
A Real ID-compliant card requires additional documentation to obtain and is marked with a star.
Beginning in 2025, Real ID is required for domestic air travel and entering federal facilities: I need to get my Real ID before my flight next month.
