raptorial
Like hunting birds
Raptorial describes features adapted for seizing prey, like those of birds of prey.
Raptorial claws curve sharply for gripping; raptorial beaks tear flesh.
The word extends to insects with grasping forelegs, like mantises: The mantis raised its raptorial limbs.
Figuratively, raptorial suggests predatory behavior: his raptorial approach to business deals.
