purse puppies
Tiny carried canines
Purse puppies are toy-breed dogs small enough to be carried in a handbag or tote, popularized by celebrities photographed with tiny chihuahuas, Yorkshire terriers, or similar breeds peeking out of designer bags.
The term often carries a slightly dismissive connotation, suggesting the dog is treated more as a fashion accessory than a pet.
