progressive lens
Seamless multifocal spectacles
A progressive lens is an eyeglass lens with multiple focal strengths that transition gradually from top to bottom, allowing the wearer to see clearly at different distances—typically far vision at the top, intermediate in the middle, and near vision at the bottom.
Unlike bifocals or trifocals, progressives have no visible lines dividing the zones: She switched to progressives so her glasses wouldn't look dated.
