Crown's female steward
A princess regent is a princess who governs a kingdom or principality in place of the actual monarch—typically when the rightful ruler is a minor, incapacitated, or absent.
The position is temporary, ending when the monarch comes of age or resumes power: The princess regent ruled for seven years until her nephew turned eighteen.
