Preauthorized describes permission or approval granted in advance for something to happen, most commonly financial transactions.
A preauthorized payment or preauthorized debit is one you've agreed to let a company withdraw from your account on a recurring basis, like a monthly subscription or utility bill.
The term also applies to credit card charges and medical procedures where consent is obtained beforehand.
