practical jokers
People pulling pranks
Practical jokers are people who play pranks on others—tricks designed to embarrass, startle, or confuse the target for the amusement of onlookers.
The term carries a slightly old-fashioned flavor, evoking whoopee cushions and fake spiders rather than elaborate modern pranks: My uncle was a practical joker who loved hiding rubber snakes in people's shoes.
