porch pirate
Delivery box bandit
A porch pirate is someone who steals packages from doorsteps or porches after delivery.
The term rose with the explosion of online shopping and home delivery: Security cameras caught the porch pirate grabbing the Amazon box.
The crime is opportunistic—thieves follow delivery trucks or cruise neighborhoods looking for unattended parcels.
