polynomial equations
Multi-term mathematical statements
Polynomial equations are mathematical statements where a polynomial expression equals zero or another value.
A polynomial consists of variables raised to non-negative integer powers, combined with coefficients: x² + 3x - 5 = 0.
Solving means finding values that make the equation true.
Linear and quadratic equations are the simplest types; higher-degree polynomials become progressively harder to solve.
