ploughboy
Young agricultural laborer
A ploughboy is a boy or young man who guides a plough or leads the horses or oxen that pull it.
The term evokes rural agricultural life before mechanization: He started as a ploughboy and ended up owning the farm.
By extension, ploughboy suggests rustic simplicity or humble origins.
