plot overview
Narrative in brief
A plot overview is a summary of a story's main events, covering the beginning, middle, and end without detailed analysis.
It tells you what happens in a novel, film, or play: I read the plot overview before watching the movie.
Unlike a synopsis, which may hint at themes, a plot overview focuses strictly on narrative sequence.
