pillow sham
Ornamental bedding cover
A pillow sham is a decorative covering for a bed pillow, typically with a flanged or ruffled edge.
Unlike pillowcases, which enclose the pillow for sleeping, shams are ornamental—placed in front of or on top of sleeping pillows during the day and removed at night: She arranged the pillow shams against the headboard.
