A shammer is someone who fakes or pretends—a person who shams.
The word appears most often in military contexts for someone feigning illness or injury to avoid duty: The sergeant had no patience for shammers trying to get out of PT.
Outside military use, shammer sounds old-fashioned; faker or fraud serves the same purpose.
