patient rounds
Checking on patients
Patient rounds are the regular visits physicians and medical teams make to hospitalized patients, typically moving from room to room to assess conditions, review treatment plans, and make decisions about care.
In teaching hospitals, rounds often include medical students and residents learning at the bedside: The attending physician leads rounds every morning at seven.
The practice can also be a verb: We'll round on the new admissions first.
