past due
Beyond the deadline
Past due describes something not paid or completed by its deadline.
Bills, rent, library books, and assignments all become past due when their due dates pass without action: Your account is thirty days past due.
The phrase appears on invoices and notices as a polite but firm reminder that payment is overdue.
