paper screens
Light-filtering room partitions
Paper screens are lightweight frames covered with translucent paper, traditionally used in East Asian architecture to divide rooms or filter light.
Japanese shoji screens are the best-known example—wooden lattices backed with rice paper that soften incoming light while providing privacy.
The term can also describe any temporary partition made of paper-covered panels: The paper screens created separate workspaces in the open office.
