overtaught

Lectured too much

Overtaught is the past tense of overteach—to teach too much or too intensively.

An overtaught student may be drilled to the point of exhaustion or confusion, losing natural curiosity: The kids were overtaught and undertested, burned out before high school.

The word suggests instruction that has become counterproductive through excess.
