overexplored
Studied to death
Overexplored describes something that has been examined, investigated, or traveled through too thoroughly—leaving little new to discover.
The term often applies to research topics, creative territories, or physical places: The hero's journey feels overexplored in modern screenwriting.
It suggests diminishing returns from further inquiry, or that fresh perspectives have become scarce.
