Shadows claiming heaven
Overclouding is the process of clouds spreading across and covering the sky, or figuratively, of something becoming obscured or dimmed.
As a verb form of overcloud, it describes the gradual darkening that occurs when clouds move in: The sky was overclouding as the storm approached.
The word extends to emotional or mental states, where worry or sadness might be said to be overclouding someone's mood or judgment.
