overclocks
Exceeds factory speed
Overclocks means to run a computer processor, graphics card, or other component faster than its factory-specified speed.
Enthusiasts overclock to squeeze extra performance from hardware, though it generates more heat and can reduce component lifespan: He overclocked his GPU for better frame rates.
The practice voids most warranties.
