optical spectrum
Visible wavelength range
The optical spectrum is the portion of the electromagnetic spectrum visible to the human eye—the range of wavelengths we perceive as colors, from violet through red.
More broadly, it refers to any visual representation of light's component wavelengths, as when sunlight passes through a prism: The optical spectrum showed distinct absorption lines.
