keep talking
Stay on topic
Keep talking is an imperative phrase used to encourage someone to continue speaking, often because what they're saying is interesting, useful, or incriminating.
It can be genuine encouragement: Keep talking, I'm listening.
But it frequently carries an edge—a detective letting a suspect dig deeper, or someone savoring another's self-destruction: Oh, keep talking. You're only making this worse for yourself.
