on-screen keyboard
Software input display
A keyboard displayed on a computer or device screen rather than as physical hardware.
Users tap or click the virtual keys to type.
On-screen keyboards serve touchscreen devices like phones and tablets, provide accessibility for users who cannot operate physical keyboards, and offer security against keystroke-logging malware.
The on-screen keyboard popped up when I tapped the text field.
