obtainment
Act of acquiring
Obtainment is the act of obtaining something—acquiring, gaining, or coming into possession of it.
The word is formal and somewhat stiff; most contexts prefer obtaining or simply getting: The obtainment of a visa required months of paperwork.
It appears most often in legal, bureaucratic, or academic writing.
