obedience class
Canine training course
A training course where dogs learn to follow basic commands—sit, stay, come, heel.
The class teaches the owner as much as the dog, since consistent handling matters more than the animal's intelligence.
We enrolled the puppy in obedience class after he chewed through the couch.
Sometimes used humorously about people who need disciplining.
