nomenclatural code

Taxonomy's naming rules

A nomenclatural code is a set of rules governing how organisms are named in biological taxonomy.

Different codes exist for different domains: the International Code of Zoological Nomenclature for animals, the International Code of Nomenclature for algae, fungi, and plants, and so on.

These codes ensure names are standardized, unambiguous, and universally recognized across languages and borders.
