no-no's
Things to avoid
No-no's is a plural of no-no, an informal term for something that is forbidden, inadvisable, or socially unacceptable.
The word has a childish quality, perhaps because it echoes the way adults speak to young children: Hitting is a no-no.
Despite this, it appears frequently in adult contexts to characterize things that should be avoided: Wearing white after Labor Day used to be a fashion no-no.
The possessive-looking apostrophe in no-no's is a common but nonstandard spelling of the plural.
