nature sketching
Drawing wildlife outdoors
Nature sketching is the practice of drawing plants, animals, landscapes, or other natural subjects outdoors, typically done on location rather than from photographs.
It emphasizes direct observation and often appears in field journals or naturalist notebooks: She spent the morning nature sketching by the pond.
The sketches tend toward quick, informal studies rather than finished artwork.
