mouse hole

Tiny wall opening

A mouse hole is a small opening in a wall or baseboard where mice enter and exit, often depicted in cartoons as a neat arch-shaped doorway.

The term extends to any small gap or opening: We squeezed through a mouse hole in the fence.

In oil drilling, the mouse hole is a shallow bore in the rig floor where pipe sections are stored upright before being added to the drill string.
