Light before sunrise
Morning twilight is the period between first light and sunrise, when the sky gradually brightens but the sun has not yet appeared above the horizon.
It is the dawn counterpart to evening twilight.
Astronomers distinguish civil, nautical, and astronomical twilight based on how far below the horizon the sun remains: Morning twilight comes earlier in summer.
