misfed

Improperly loaded paper

Misfed is the past tense of misfeed—to feed incorrectly or improperly through a mechanism.

The term appears most often with printers, copiers, and other machines that process sheets: The printer misfed three pages in a row.

Paper that jams or enters crookedly has misfed.

Less commonly, misfed describes improper feeding of animals or people.
