Braces wearer's teasing
Metal mouth is slang for someone wearing dental braces, referencing the metallic brackets and wires visible when they smile or speak.
The term is mildly teasing, commonly used among children and teenagers: The other kids called him metal mouth until his braces came off.
It can also describe the unpleasant metallic taste sometimes experienced as a medication side effect.
