manual tool

Hand-operated device

A manual tool is any implement powered by human effort rather than electricity, batteries, or fuel.

Hammers, screwdrivers, hand saws, and wrenches are manual tools.

The term distinguishes these from power tools: I prefer manual tools for small jobs—less setup, less noise.
