making peace
Resolving a dispute
Making peace is the act of ending hostility or conflict, whether between nations, groups, or individuals.
It can mean formally concluding a war through treaty or negotiation, or simply reconciling after a disagreement: After years of feuding, the brothers finally made peace.
Making peace with something also means accepting what cannot be changed: She's making peace with the diagnosis.
