long weekends
Three-day休息 holidays
Long weekends are periods of three or more consecutive days off from work or school, typically created when a holiday falls on a Friday or Monday, extending the standard two-day weekend.
They offer enough time for short trips, family gatherings, or simply extended rest without using much vacation time.
We're planning a beach trip for the long weekend.
In some contexts, people create their own long weekends by taking an extra day off adjacent to the regular weekend.
