long robe
Floor-length draped clothing
A long robe is a flowing garment extending to the ankles or floor, worn by judges, clergy, academics, or other officials in formal or ceremonial contexts.
The term distinguishes these professions from those in ordinary dress: members of the long robe refers collectively to lawyers or the judiciary.
A long robe may also simply describe any ankle-length robe worn for comfort or warmth.
