long live

May they prosper

Long live is a phrase expressing the hope that someone or something will endure or prosper for a long time.

Traditionally a salute to monarchs—Long live the King! —it now celebrates anything the speaker wants to see thrive: Long live rock and roll, Long live the revolution.

The construction is optative, expressing a wish rather than a statement of fact.
