logical flaw

Argument's weak point

A logical flaw is a defect in reasoning that undermines an argument's validity.

The flaw might be a false premise, a non sequitur, circular reasoning, or any break in the chain connecting evidence to conclusion.

The prosecutor's case had a logical flaw: the defendant couldn't have been in two places at once.

In formal logic, even a single flaw invalidates the entire argument.
