live auction
Real-time bidding competition
A live auction is a sale where bidders compete in real time, usually in the same physical space with an auctioneer calling for bids: The estate will be sold at live auction next Saturday.
The term distinguishes this format from online or sealed-bid auctions, though "live" now also applies to real-time auctions conducted via video stream.
